Garry Monk has today made his first signing as Birmingham City boss.

We reported that Kristian Pedersen was close to signing last month, and the danish defender has today officially joined the club.

The 23-year-old was wanted by several clubs, including fellow championship side Leeds United.

But it’s Blues who have won the race, and Jonathan Grounds is now expected to depart the club relatively soon.

Pedersen’s versatility will be of great use to Monk, with the Dane being able to play both left midfield and left back.
