Steve Cotterill is keen on West Bromwich Albion’s Sam Field.

Field, who was born in Stourbridge, has featured six times for The Baggies in the league this term, but manager Alan Pardew may be keen to give the 19-year-old centre midfielder more game time elsewhere.

Blues have been crying out for a ball playing midfielder this season and at just 19, Field fits the bill. The England under 20’s international scored his first premier league goal against Newcastle in November, he also started at Wembley against Tottenham Hotspur.

Birmingham City aren’t the only ones chasing the starlet, Norwich City have expressed their interest however reports suggest that West Brom have rejected a loan offer from The Canaries.

Steve Cotterill is yet to add to his squad this window, with the deadline looming on Wednesday.
