Boro v Blues – A fanseye view

Tonight, the blues travel to north Yorkshire to take on Middlesbrough at the Riverside stadium. Blues head into tonight’s game on the back of a well received 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the weekend, whilst Boro head into the game off a 2-1 reverse at Elland Road. The last 2 meetings between the sides both ended up in draws, and after Tuesdays results in the Championship Blues fans would happily take the same again. However the opportunity is there to put some much wanted breathing space between us and the relegation zone tonight. This fixture tonight also sees Darren Randolph and Ryan Shotton come up against us, two former players. And on the other side of the fence it’s a return to the riverside for Jonathan Grounds and Emilio Nsue.
Here’s hoping for a positive result, but Boro has in recent years been a very difficult fixture for us, with no win in our last 6 against them. Middlesbrough have the quality up front to threaten any side in this league and
also have a good defence, whereas we on the other hand lack goals and have looked dodgy at times in defence, except for Jonathan Grounds who is the greatest left back to ever grace a football pitch since Martin Grainger. My hope for tonight, if we can show the same commitment and desire as Saturday I think we can go up there and get a result, however Boro will want to bounce back and I see it being a 2-1 reverse to Middlesbrough. After the battle against Forest on Saturday, which saw us pick up a well needed 3 points, the confidence in the dressing room should be a little higher now. I thought the team looked more together against Forest with the players showing some fight and desire. Boro is a difficult place to go but I feel that if the lads put a shift in we can come away with something. I feel a point would be a good result for us tonight!
Safe travels to everyone making the trip this evening. Keep right on!
