Harry Redknapp looks to have won the race to sign Angers captain, Cheick Ndoye.

The 31-year-old rejected a new offer to stay with the French club, allowing him to move on a free.

Standing at 6’3, Ndoye would add strength and defensive qualities to the Blues midfield. Redknapp is not short of midfield options, but evidently feels the need to add a powerful and dominant presence to the ranks.

The Senegalese international has previously been linked with Crystal Palace, West Brom and Villa, but is set to become Redknapp’s third summer signing.

More arrivals are expected.
