Blues have today confirmed the return of forward Rachel Williams.
Williams played for Blues between 2011 and 2013, top scoring in the first WSL season as Blues finished runners up to Arsenal. Williams also scored the equaliser in the FA Cup final win over Chelsea at Ashton Gate in 2012. After leaving Blues Williams spent a year with Chelsea before moving to Notts County where she was playing until the club folded at the start of the Spring Series.
With just 1 goal in our 3 Spring Series games so far, the addition of Williams to the forward line could be what’s required to help us really push on and get the wins in close games. Having played together at Notts County, Williams and Ellen White will be looking to rekindle their fine attacking threat.
Blues are back in Spring Series action tomorrow night (Wednesday) at home to Bristol.
