Birmingham City’s David Cotterill could be set to miss tomorrow night’s Capital One Cup derby against Aston Villa through injury.

The final outcome of Cotterill’s apparent foot or ankle injury remains to be seen, but the creative wide-man will be missed if he is unavailable for selection.

Blues boss Gary Rowett revealed that he would “put the strongest team out” for Tuesday’s derby, the first League Cup meeting since 2010.

Should Welsh international Cotterill miss the clash, Jacques Maghoma is likely to be his replacement.
