Burke- “we have to make Birmingham a fortress”
1December 12, 2012 by Made In Brum
Blues winger Chris Burke has challenged his team mates to put themselves in the promotion picture by making St. Andrews a fortress again.
The 29 year-old, who has been out of form himself this season, said- “we’ve not had back-to-back wins this season, so that’s something we need to look at”.
Blues have only won four out of their ten home fixtures. He continued- “what we’re looking for is an improvement in our home form, that’s for sure. We have to make Birmingham a fortress again and a place teams are worried about coming to”.
The Scot fired Blues into fourth last season with 14 goals and 18 assists. But that sort of form hasn’t been repeated this term so far. On his personal lack of form, Burke said- “For me as a player, this season has just not gone as I would have wanted it to have gone,”.
“Any player in football at any level always takes a dip in form. “It’s just trying to limit that as much as possible, so hopefully I can do that.”.
Blues now have back-to-back home games against Crystal Palace (Saturday, 3pm) and Burnley (22 December, 3pm).
We need Burke to tear em’ apart again!
