A good Rovers return

Although we still haven’t won back-to-back games this season, the Blackburn performance and result was a good one. On the back foot during the early stages and a goal down, Blues were not going to be push-overs. Marlon King’s equaliser gave us a kick up the backside and from then on until half-time, Blues were the better team.
The midfield, which I have criticised previously, was organised and did all the basics right. Since Ravel Morrison has come into the team, Blues seem more threatening. And what is also evident, Hayden Mullins seems to thrive off playing alongside him. Another mention must go to Paul Robinson who looked assured at centre-back, his third position since joining the club.
King and Nikola Zigic caused numerous problems and gave Scott Dann and Grant Hanley something to think about. Overall, it was a good showing from Blues who seem to be finding some sort of form. Blackburn are a team who I am sure will be in the top six in May, so we shouldn’t underestimate how good the point is.
A blog wouldn’t be complete without at least one moan. The gentleman sitting by me quite clearly dislikes Lee Clark. But he was moaning about literally everything. But what got me was when he called Clark a “clown” for taking Zigic off and bringing Nathan Redmond on, with just over ten minutes left, Ziggy getting tired, the midfield being open, we clearly needed an extra body in there. If Chris Hughton had done the same thing last season, nothing would have been said, but people who dislike a manager, in this case Clark, have to find a reason to give him stick. For me, Clark got it spot on.
So, Hull City at St. Andrews next. What a big one that will be. With a win, we can move to just below mid-table, its important that Blues take this chance, Hull are a good side, Steve Bruce has done a magnificent job there, but I fancy Blues to snatch it.
Keep Right On!
