Blues completed the signing of former West Brom and Bolton defender Paul Robinson today, on a one-month contract. It was a case on ‘needs-must’ for boss Lee Clark as injuries to Stephen Carr, Paul Caddis and David Murphy leave Blues short of experienced cover at full-back.
Robbo, 33, started his career at Watford where he went on to make over 200 appearances before a £375,000 switch to West Bromwich Albion. He was a popular figure in his seven-year stint at the Hawthorns but will be remembered by Bluenoses as the man who broke Damien Johnson’s jaw in a derby clash at St. Andrews.
Since leaving the West Midlands he has gone on to play for Bolton Wanderers and Leeds United, where he had a brief loan spell. He has been training at Wast Hills recently and adds vast experience to Blues’ ranks. Robinson can also play at centre back.
