Fans split over Clark

It is too easy to blame the manager alone. The players earn a lot of money and should stand up and be counted. Playing for Birmingham City should be an honour, but the players yesterday were spineless. On the other hand, some of Clark’s decisions have been baffling. With injuries to Paul Caddis and Stephen Carr, the obvious and only choice to fill the right-back berth was Jon Spector, but Clark opted for Hayden Mullins. Yes, taking Spector out of the midfield would take something away, but needs must. What’s wrong with Ravel Morrison? Time and time again Clark has described him as a ‘magician’, yet leaves him on the bench time and time again.

Next week Blues travel to Brighton who are in-form right now. It’ll be a massive game and a very tough one. But ultimately, a game in which we could find out what sort of manager Lee Clark is. He needs to show bottle and go for it. Even if we lose, chances are we will because Brighton are simply a better side than us, just attack and show intent. Give us something to shout about.

If Clark were to be sacked, then Alan Curbishley is NOT the answer. I’m sorry, but in all honestly, he is as negative as Alex McLeish and has been out the game too long. Add that to the fact he slagged Blues and the city of Birmingham off in his autobiography, no thank you Alan. Mick McCarthy would be my choice. He would get the best out of the players we have and he has a proven Championship record. Not that I want Clark to be sacked, yet. But I am running low on excuses to stick up for him. Patience running a bit thin and all that.

We’ll see. Keep Right On!
